Who we are
Ethical Storytellers is a service collective operated by Richard Miller. This Privacy Policy explains how information is collected and used when you visit ethicalstorytellers.com or contact us through the website.
For questions about this policy or the use of your personal information, contact us at ethicalstorytellers@gmail.com.
Information you provide
When you use our contact form, we may collect your name, email address, organization, website and any other contact information you choose to provide. We also collect the information you include in your message about your project or inquiry.
Please do not use the general contact form to send sensitive story material or personal information about children, story participants or other potentially vulnerable individuals. If such material is relevant to a possible assignment, we will agree on an appropriate and secure way to share it.
Information collected automatically
This website is hosted by Squarespace. When you visit the site, Squarespace may collect technical information needed to operate and protect it, including information about your browser, device, network and IP address.
If you consent to analytics cookies, information may also be collected about how you use the website, such as the pages you visit and how you arrived at the site. This helps us understand how the website is being used and how it might be improved.
How we use your information
Information submitted through the contact form is used to respond to your inquiry, understand your needs and explore whether Ethical Storytellers can support your project.
We may also use limited technical information to maintain the security and functionality of the website. Analytics information is used to understand general website activity.
We do not sell personal information.
How information is shared
The website and contact form are provided through Squarespace. Form submissions may be sent to and stored in our Gmail account, which is provided by Google.
When appropriate, information about a potential project may be shared with members of the Ethical Storytellers collective who are relevant to the inquiry. We only share what is reasonably necessary to assess or respond to the request.
Our service providers and collective members may be located in different countries. This means that information may be processed outside the country in which you live.
How long we retain information
We keep information submitted through our contact form only for as long as reasonably necessary. If an inquiry does not lead to an assignment, we normally delete it within 12 months of our last contact. If you become a client, we may retain relevant correspondence and business records for as long as needed to provide our services and meet applicable contractual, accounting or legal obligations.
Cookies
Squarespace uses necessary cookies to operate and secure this website. These cookies cannot always be disabled because the website may not function properly without them.
Optional analytics cookies are used only according to the choices available through our cookie banner. You can decline these cookies or change your preferences through the cookie settings displayed on the website.
More information about Squarespace’s processing practices is available in the Squarespace Privacy Policy.
Your choices and rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to request access to the personal information we hold about you. You may also ask us to correct or delete it, restrict its use or object to certain processing.
Where information is processed on the basis of your consent, you may withdraw that consent. You may also have the right to raise a concern with the relevant data-protection authority in your country.
